  • Colorbond fences are known for their low maintenance requirements. Generally, they require occasional cleaning with water and mild detergent to remove any dirt or debris. Unlike traditional timber fences, Colorbond fences do not require painting or staining, and they are resistant to rotting, warping, and termites. Routine inspections for any signs of damage, such as scratches or corrosion, are recommended to address minor issues before they become significant. Along with making sure the bottom rails of your fence remain clear of any sand or dirt, having them fill up are remain full of dirt holds moisture in the rail and will lead to the rails rusting prematurely.

  • While Colorbond fences offer durability, style, and low maintenance, there are other fencing options available to suit different preferences and needs. Some alternatives include timber fences, which provide a natural and classic look but may require regular maintenance; aluminum fences, which offer a lightweight and corrosion-resistant option; and PVC or vinyl fences, which require minimal maintenance and come in various styles and colors. Each option has its own advantages and considerations in terms of cost, durability, and aesthetics.

  • The depth of posts for Colorbond fences typically depends on factors such as soil type, fence height, and local building codes. Industry standard for an 1800mm tall fence suggests post be installed with 600mm in the ground. To be safe though, CBF Fencing at no extra cost installs their posts at a minimum of 900mm in the ground to ensure stability and structural integrity. Deeper post installation may be necessary in areas with softer or sandy soil or for taller fence heights to provide adequate support and prevent leaning or shifting over time.
